Here's to new beginnings

Begin

       As I keep my head high, marching to the beat of my own drum.

          I know this is right, after all the wrong I've done.

       I move forward and don't look back,

          as I plan out my life and forge a new plan of attack.

       One that leads to something better, something new,

          as I am finding something I never even knew could be true.

       My life is ahead of me now and my past is behind,

          as I reach deep inside myself it is there that I find,

       the answers to my questions, the ones that plagued me so.

          After all these years of not knowing, I finally know.

       I know that I am greater than the sum of my mistakes.

          I know that I'm the one who has what it takes.

       To be who I was destined to be,

          break the chains of my past and finally be free.

       I am free of all my burdens, cleansed of all my sin, ready to take that step,

          and at long last, let my life begin.
