What could be the truth behind the lies,

when you hide behind those pain filled eyes.

So much thought goes into feeling,

an endless supply of doubt, searching for the real thing.

An open heart and an open mind,

hoping to discern the truth in the lies that we find.

Oh, what a seemingly empty mind,
wanting to pause or possibly rewind.

When in all actuality there is so much more,

so much that's worth fighting for. 
So much that is real and has no regret in it,
changing how we feel and helping us forget.
So we lift our chins in the face of despair,
in the hope that there,
in the darkness of our mind, we will find,
the Answer

Oh how could I have missed

What was right in front of my face

 Seemingly out of place 

Oh what decisions my mind makes

Oh what horrid mistakes

That just cannot be erased.

 What am I to do

Now that it is through

Can it be fixed and at what cost
